TRD-2 incorporates sensing functions into the scaffolds to monitor dynamically and longitudinally multiple biological properties of the maturing TEMP in a non-destructive approach. To capture real-time cues of cell differentiation and tissue maturation in the bioreactor, the focus is on :
(1) Cell seeding onto the scaffolds (monitoring and optimizing)
(2) Nutrient exchange and metabolic waste removal as read-out for cell and tissue status
